Pain in the left side of the stomach

There are many possible causes of pain in the left side of the abdomen. It is usually felt in the lower abdomen, but it is not always a cause for concern. In many cases, it goes away on its own.

But for some, left side pain doesn’t go away immediately. If you’re experiencing severe pain and are no longer comfortable with left side abdominal pain, it’s a good idea to see a doctor.

Possible causes of left side abdominal pain

1. Painful side caused by wind or gas in the stomach

Pain in the left side of the stomach can be caused by gas or bloating. The most common causes are the following:

  • Air enters the stomach
  • Too much food
  • Smoking
  • Vaping
  • Chewing gum
  • Eating gas-producing foods
  • There is bacteria in the colon that causes it

Gas or bloating is not serious, but it’s a good idea to see a doctor if it’s accompanied by any of the following symptoms:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Heartburn
  • Weight loss
  • There is blood in the blood.
  • May constipation

2. Hernia in English

A hernia can also cause pain on the left side of the abdomen. Its presence is caused by internal organs in our body pushing against the muscle or tissue surrounding it.

6. Urinary tract infection

  • Painful urination
  • Smelly urine or excessive urination
  • Fever
  • Has pink or red urine

Some causes of side pain are unique to women and some of them are as follows:

7. Having menstrual cramps
