What influences your job decisions? For the youths today, freedom to use social networking sites is a big consideration when accepting future job offers. This according to a survey conducted by the Junior Achievement Worldwide, an international non-profit organization that focuses on education.
While most companies are implementing stricter policies on the use of social networking sites during working hours, more than fifty percent of the kids are hoping to find jobs where they would be freely allowed to use Facebook and Twitter. According to Junior Achievement spokesperson Stephanie Bell, the youths need to be educated on ethical internet practices. Many of our youths today can’t stand a day without poking, tweeting or updating their status.
Social networking sites have really revolutionized the way we live our lives today. Can you imagine the youths putting “freedom to use Facebook and Twitter” as their top consideration when accepting a job in the future? Let’s just wait and see if they’ll still think the same way when they’re already out there in the real world.
