It hasn’t been long since Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu and her 5-year-old son Dalton, reunited with her Singapore-based businessman husband, Sean Lee, and her stepdaughters.
Just last July, the 45-year-old star flew back to Singapore from Taiwan with Dalton after 5 months of being forced to be physically apart from her Indonesia-born husband due to the pandemic.
The mother-son duo completed their two-week quarantine safely on 9 August, which was just in time to celebrate Dalton’s birthday on 13 August.
Taking to holding a Nezha-themed party at home, Vivian shared in an Instagram post (14 Aug) a series of photographs they had taken together.

The 5-year-old was immaculately dressed from head to toe in the NeZha-inspired outfit as he posed with the iconic fire-tipped spear.
According to Hsu, the set-up was inspired by Dalton’s obsession with a teenage protection deity, Nezha, in Chinese folk religion. And apparently, his love for NeZha grew after realising that both of them shared the same surname ‘Lee’, she said.

The celebration that was filled with smiles, was also made complete with a customised NeZha-themed cake.

According to Hsu’s post, Dalton expressed his gratitude towards his parents for the party on his birthday night.
Just before bedtime, he said: “Mummy, I’m not sure why but I feel a little teary… Thank you mummy and daddy for the Nezha-themed present and cake, I am very happy today, and I really like it like this.”
But for Hsu herself, the highlight of her son’s birthday was perhaps something intangible.
Unable to conceal his ‘secret wish’ from her any longer, Hsu recounted how Dalton whispered in her ear: “Mummy, can I tell you what the third birthday wish that I made in my heart was? I wished for everyone to be able to experience happiness like I did today when they celebrate their birthdays in the future.”
Hsu said that she felt gratified after hearing what her son told her.
She wrote: “I never thought that his third birthday wish would be dedicated to those around him. He’s such a loving boy.”
Ending off her post, Hsu dedicates her birthday wishes for Dalton: “Mummy hope you grow up safely and healthily. Apart from growing up to become a happy and good person, it is important to maintain a grateful heart.”
