Give your children the chance to interact with animals and feel closer to them.

Pet parents and animals lovers will unanimously agree that there’s something about animals that just warms the heart and evokes feelings of pure love. With zoos, nature reserves, rescue centres, farms, animal resorts dotted around the island, you have plenty of opportunities to interact with your favourite fuzzy animals.

If you have a pet, then you should not miss out on any chance to shower your love on your little pet babies with hugs and kisses. If you don’t, here are some places you can visit to interact with animals.

Singapore Zoo

It is spread over 26-hectares of lush nature reserve land and is home to more than 2,500 animals. There are over 300 species, from across the globe.

Unlike the usual traditional caged zoos, Singapore Zoo is one of the world’s first ‘open concept’ zoos that have animals in individually landscaped enclosures and zones.

They also offer the opportunity to have breakfast with the orangutans. However, it is currently suspended due to the pandemic.

Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum

If you have visited before, you know that Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum is akin to a sanctuary that houses more than 200 turtles and tortoises of over 60 species, including a variety of rare reptiles.

Your little ones will surely be mesmerised by the fearsome alligator snapping turtles, and there is one muscular 60-year-old Asian Turtle.

However, be mindful of the tiny terrapins and the soft shell tortoises that roam freely through the park.

Do note that the museum is open, but group entries are limited to 5 pax per group, and only fully vaccinated visitors will be allowed entry. However, kids under 12 years of age need not be vaccinated.

Jurong Bird Park

It’s not a surprise that the best place to watch birds is the Jurong Bird Park. It is home to over 8,000 birds from 600 species.

There are many exotic and endangered Southeast Asian species, other than pelicans, penguins, ibises, swans, toucans, flamingoes, birds of paradise – and so much more.

It is a guarantee that Jurong will give visitors an experience that is entertaining as well as educational!

Your kids can enjoy horse riding at Gallop Stables. Here, they can also indulge in activities including pony rides, trail rides, and much more.

Your little ones can also get a chance to feed the horses and bunnies and even hold events such as birthday parties and corporate events.

They keep organising interesting workshops frequently, so do check their website so you don’t miss out on them.

Gardens By The Bay

This place is not just home to some eye-catching Supertree Grove and stunning trees and flowers, but it also has a dragonfly and kingfisher lake.

Your kids can not only learn about the area’s aquatic ecosystem, but they can also spot dragonflies fluttering near the lake surface.

The lakes are also facing Singapore’s skyline, thus offering a beautiful and photographic backdrop.

Before planning a visit to any of the animal resort Singapore has to offer, always check with these places to know if they allow visitors to interact with animals. On account of the pandemic, there can be some restrictions.

We don’t want you to have an uneventful trip so when you are at these animal resorts, don’t forget to mask up and keep your hands well sanitised.
