Low fat dishes do not always have to be boring and unappetizing. With a little innovation and substitution, almost any of your favorite dishes can be transformed into low fat delicacies. Trying out new recipes is a fun way to explore and create low fat dishes instead of simply drooling over old yummy dishes that you have to deprive yourself of. Some of the following dishes have proven to be favorites for its low fat content.

Lean cuts of meat

Contrary to popular belief, chicken is not the only common low fat meat available to cook delicious meals. Lean cuts of meats such as pork tenderloin and beef in small portions can be used to prepare various different dishes from chops to chilies.

Side dishes that are low in fat are also another good option to ensure as part of the healthy diet regiment. Even the popular mashed potatoes can be prepared to ensure its low fat content by substituting the regular ingredients with low fat milk and sour cream.
