Much like us when we're little, we don't want to hear everyday preaching from our parents. We all know what happens to those words… It enters one ear, then goes out to the other. As a child, we follow as example. We do what we see, and less often what we hear. This is how our child learns from us as well.
Here are some examples on how you become an everyday hero on your child's eyes:
The moment they wake-up, they notice how grumpy or alive we are in the morning. If you stretch your body, give thanks for another day to live, say your intentions for the day, then give yourself and the first person you see a big smile to start your day, that's what your child see. If not, they also see those.
They notice how we go along with our day with plans of achieving some goals or simply let our days pass by. If you've been working on something and they see you progressing on it (no matter if that's chores or office work), that's what your child see. If not, they also see those.
They see you interact with other people. That moment you hold that door for auntie? They saw that and is now embedded in their minds to do next time someone needs help with the door. If not, they also see those.
They observe how you mindfully pick where to eat so your family can eat healthy food. If not, they also see those.
They imitate how you talk with confidence to others and do that with their friends and in school too. And that's because, they see those from you!
Being a hero for your child can be effortless as long as you live mindfully of your actions and do things according to your values and manners. If not, they see those from you too!
Bring out the everyday hero in you on your children's eyes❤️
