Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Dr Peter Yan spent over 20 years researching, developing and refining this 5-step Math solving system. Having coached and helped countless students of different learning types, he understands the common struggles and difficulties that each one faces with Math. ATM re-presents Math in a manner that helps eliminate the language that used to make understanding questions a mind-boggling challenge. With ATM, students no longer need to struggle with Math and can get the correct answers within 5 fun and simple steps.

 

Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Dr Cheah Yin Mee was a teacher educator at the National Institute of Education (NIE), where she trained and supervised pre-service and in-service English language teachers. She has provided her expert services to the Ministry of Education (MOE), to schools and to book publishers as an English consultant. She understands the common struggles and difficulties that students face in learning English. Dr Cheah also published academic books and a series of English assessment books for Oxford University Press/Marshall Cavendish. She also served as the President of the Society for Reading and Literacy (SRL).

 

Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Mdm Yvonne Chu is the HOD (Head of Science Department) in a primary school. As the pioneer recipient of “Outstanding Science Teacher Award” by Ministry of Education, Yvonne was selected to attend the annual Science Conference at University of Reading (England) and subsequently returned to present her findings during the annual Science Head of Department meeting organised by Ministry Of Education. With more than 21 years of invaluable ground experiences guiding P6 students in both neighbourhood and GEP schools towards excelling for PSLE Science, Yvonne knows how important it is for teachers to be constantly levelling up their content knowledge and pedagogy skills.

 

Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Dr Chua Chee Lay is a Chinese linguist, educational technology researcher, award-winning poet and a dedicated educator who has been commended Excellence in Teaching by the National Institute of Education, NTU. He received an overseas scholarship to pursue his MA and Ph.D. in Chinese linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

He was formerly the Sub-Dean and MA, Ph.D. student Supervisor at NIE, NTU. His principal research interests include the use of IT in education, Social linguistics, Chinese language, culture and literature as well as the teaching and learning of Chinese Language. For the last fifteen years, he has been invited as keynote speaker at many international conferences in overseas.

Currently, he is the Chief Executive for CL Lab (Singapore) and Head for Educational Technology Research Centre. He is the Chairman for the Writer-in-Residence Programme and the Mentor of the Creative Writing program for the Gifted Education Programme by Ministry of Education. He is also the Chief Editor for several books and series, including Keeping My Mandarin Alive: Lee Kuan Yew’s Language Learning Experiences (Chinese, English and China Edition) and Journey of Our Young.

Gary has a background in program development, Neuro Linguistic programming and brain based learning, and has been involved in training programs and learning methodologies since the age of 15.

Having years of extensive experience with countless adolescents and children with learning disorders, behavioral & academic challenges  and childhood issues, he has developed his unique blend of strategies to get them to believe more in themselves and overcome the odds to be the best they can be.  Once a below average student, Gary used the strategies and methodologies that he shares today to catapult himself to the top 5% in his Secondary School. Combining enthusiasm with a dynamic entertaining speaking style and energetic presence, he has trained over 100,000 people from all walks of life.

 

 

Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Muhd Amin is a Lead Trainer with Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group Pte Ltd. As a licensed personal coach and trainer, Amin is adept at bringing the best out of the people whom he works with, be it students or adults.

Once just an average student, Amin soared to become the top Malay Student in his Secondary School through personal peak performance strategies, and repeated this feat for his A-level examinations. Amin has trained many individuals in maximizing their potential in leadership and breaking out of comfort zones to obtain greater achievements. Amin’s dynamic training delivery combined with humor allows audience to effectively absorb and apply powerful techniques shared.

 

Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Melvin Chew is a Lead Trainer with Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group (AKLTG) acclaimed for his innovative style of delivery and utilization of humor and fun activities to bring about energetic and powerful training sessions. Melvin once shared the difficulties that students faced in learning, and has been helping to inspire and touch many lives of all group age.

As the Assistant Head of Core Programs, Melvin has taken great steps to revamp the training manuals and propose new pedagogies which provide higher level of customization to individual schools. His fresh and creative ideas propel our training curriculum towards 21st Century Learning.

 

Trainers Behind the PSLE Seminar 2012Mr Choo Yuan Yee, or YY as he is more affectionately known is the Trainer of the Math Mastery™ programme in the Adam Khoo Learning Centre Pte Ltd (AKLC). Once a student with mediocre result, YY used the powerful accelerated learning skills and strategies that he share today, propelling himself to the first position in his class and top 10% in his secondary school. He was the school mathematics quiz winner in 1997 and 1998. YY has since graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in History and has been working with children for the past 5 years. With dynamism and passion, YY’s training allows his audience to look beyond the books and towards a more wholesome learning.  YY brings learning to an in depth level for the audience through numerous stories and games which they can internalize the lessons learnt.

*Parents are invited to attend the parenting workshop on Day 3 of the seminar (8th June) from 7pm-10pm
