Public Holidays in Singapore 2020: 7 Long Weekends Await Us!

Here is the list of public holidays in Singapore 2020. And guess what, there are 7 long weekends!

Mums and dads, if you like planning your holidays well in advance, there’s good news. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has already released the list of public holidays in Singapore 2020.

And guess what, there are 7 long weekends in 2020! That’s because 4 of the 11 public holidays fall on a Friday, and 3 falls on a Sunday.

Two other weekends can be potential long weekends if you take one day of leave.

The long weekends are for Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Labour Day, Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji, National Day and Christmas.

You can get a potential long weekend for Vesak Day if you take leave on Friday, 8 May 2020. Again, there is a long weekend for Deepavali, if you take leave on Friday, 13 November 2020.

Here Are Some Activities Which You Can Plan For The Long Weekend

  • Plan for a weekend gateway: You don’t need to go far to have fun! Go on a short road trip to a city or town that’s close to home. Both big and small cities will provide a fun change of pace.
  • XMeet Your friends & family: Long weekends are a great time for you to meet your friends and family members. You can plan to meet at lunch or invite them to dinner at your place.
  • Plan a hiking or a camping trip: Plan a hike at a local park or nature reserve. If you want to camp overnight, reserve a camping spot, pack your camping gear, and invite your friends to go accompany you.
  • Hang Out on the Beach: A fun day at the beach can give you instant vacation vibes. If the weather is suitable, there’s no better place than the beach or lakeside. Pack up your bathing suit, blankets, towels, and a picnic. Go ahead, enjoy a long day at the beach and the lake.
  • Go For a Long Drive: Plan a long drive with your family during the long weekends. You can relax at your favourite restaurant and spend quality time with your loved ones.
  • Cook: Enjoying a meal with people you care about is a great way to make memories, relax, and remind yourself what’s important. Invite friends and family to your home for lunch or dinner. If nothing works, you can also cook for yourself. Just try it!
  • Read: You might decide to work if it’ll make your life easier in the future. You can plan your day, where you will use a few hours in your weekend to take care of assignments.
  • Relax: Use the long weekend to relax and unwind yourself. It is also sometimes important to do just nothing.

Doesn’t it all sound great?! Time to get planning and making use of great travel deals then!
