7 "life-savers" every local mum must have on her speed-dial right now

From mobile shrinks to cheerleaders, here's our guide to the mums you need to have on your speed dial right now

Speed dials already serve as a life-saving function on its own. There are some who even include Foodpanda or MacDonald’s delivery hotlines into their speed dials! Well, maybe for mums, the people you really do need on speed dials are the one who’d be more than willing to fly down from wherever just because you needed help with solving the mystery of the “unusual poop colour of baby”.

For new mums, here’s our guide on the life-savers who should be on your speed dial right now. So add them, pronto!

#1 The “shut up and sit down” mum

DESCRIPTION
This mum has her whole household wrapped around her finger. From the way the house is furnished to the way her kids make their own beds. She’s the one that always manages to get things done. Call this mum up whenever you need a back-up for anything.

Even if you got into a fight with your neighbour because she claims you plucked some chillies off her chilli plant, this mum will be there in no time.

#2 The “Martha Stewart” mum

DESCRIPTION
Okay so the annual festive occasion is coming up and you’re having troubles picking the right furniture, festive cookies or even the right kitchen ware. Don’t worry, call this mum up and you’ll have your personal walking manual of how-tos. She’ll pick the right furniture and kitchenware and even the bedsheets. And yes, she’ll give you a thorough lesson on festive cookies baking as well.

#3 The fun mum

DESCRIPTION
The party only starts when this mum walks in. Or rather, this mum IS the party. She’s the one that’s always there to remind you to loosen up and knows where’s the best bar and club. She’s literally your escape.

#4 The counsellor mum

DESCRIPTION
So you have the terrible need to rant but you can’t rant to the people at home because well, it’s about the people at home! This mum is perfect because not only does she not judge, she knows how to listen without giving advice unless it is asked of her. Without this mum, you probably would have already experienced a mid-life crisis.

#5 The “fashion guru” mum

DESCRIPTION
Putting this mum on speed dial is MANDATORY. She could be a mother of four but still rocking the whole fashion thing. She’s the one you call when you have “nothing-to-wear” to that one friend’s wedding or to your D&D. She’ll be honest with you about what looks good, although sometimes brutally!

#6 The “mums to every mums” mum

DESCRIPTION
This one will be there for all of your downs and all of your mistakes. She’ll always remind you that you’re never alone and will always make you feel better about your mistakes. She’s the one that always says: “Honestly, as long as you’re happy, who cares?”

#7 The “cheerleader” mum

DESCRIPTION
This mum obviously radiates love where ever she goes. She hates seeing you sad and she’ll do whatever it takes to turn the frown upside down. She’ll make you feel like the best mum that’s ever existed even when you feel like you suck. Her friendship is genuine.
