Who doesn’t love that cute little furry red guy whose name is Elmo and who lives on Sesame Street?
Well the little guy visited Singapore over the weekend for the first time, to spread some love, laughter and kindness!
Elmo (and his puppeteer Ryan Dillon) headed straight to Universal Studios where he spent the weekend bringing smiles and laughter to faces of his little fans and their parents in a meet-and-greet session.
This happy little fellow will also visit the Singapore Zoo and the National Museum of Singapore, before heading back to his home – Sesame Street.
Elmo is here as part of a global initiative to spread kindness across the world, called #ShareTheLaughter. It’s a year-long multimedia project done by Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit media and educational organisation behind Sesame Street.
Through this campaign, Elmo has been travelling the world, spreading kindness, love and laughter with his tell-a-joke challenge.
Sesame Street has to be one of the most popular children’s television shows in history, having been around since 1969 (49 years ago). The programme is known for its focus on inclusiveness, education for all and gentle parenting tips.
Previously, it introduced a new character Julia, as part of its autism awareness campaign.
