5 Pancakes in the East of Singapore that won’t let you down!

Who doesn't love to have fluffy pancakes with maple syrup on a Sunday morning?

Lately, so many fun and colorful cafes have sprouted in the East along the very vibrant Joo Chiat Road and East Coast Road that we are truly spoilt for choice!

Here’s a lowdown of all the Eastie spots that whip up a gorgeous pancake and will leave you craving for more!

Brawn and Brain

I’m known as: Good Ol’ Classic Pancakes

Pay: $16

I’m served with: A dollop of butter, homemade authentic kaya jam, sweet & sour raspberry jam and good ol’ fashioned syrup!

The best thing about me: If you’re looking for original pancakes – this is it! I am fluffy, super fresh and just the right amount of sweet.

Have me with: A whole gamut of freshly baked Pastries (Cinnamon Buns & Babka loaves) and delicious scrambled eggs!

Common Man Coffee Roasters

I’m known as: Common Man Fluffy Pancakes

Pay: $24

I’m served with: Caramelized bananas and walnuts, salted caramel sauce, nutty crumble, and berry coulis.

The best thing about me: I can have you salivating from the word go! I’m almost a dessert with my cake-like texture & crumbly bits of sweet goodness.

Have me with: An assortment of renowned French pastries – Croissants, Pain Au Chocolat etc

Group Therapy Coffee

I’m known as: Pancake Stack

Pay: $16

I’m served with: Bananas, berries, honeycomb & maple syrup

The best thing about me: I am your traditional American style pancake and hit the spot if you’re looking for comfort. The icing on the “pancake” is that I am served with homemade ice cream !

Have me with: Bagels and Hash browns (true American style)

Little Farms

I’m known as: Wholemeal Hotcake

Pay: $22

I’m served with: A rich serving of seasonal berries doused in berry compote, maple syrup and the most incredibly fresh whipped cream (not the artificially stiff, sprayed-on stuff). I personally found there was one too many berries for my liking – but hey, this is heaven for you if you are a berry-lover (like my brothers!)

The best thing about me: I am made with premium organic ingredients, and this makes me a healthier bet!

Have me with: Delectable kid friendly Organic tomato pasta and freshly squeezed juices.

Five Oars Coffee Roasters

I’m known as: Citrus Ricotta Pancakes

Pay: $16

I’m served with: Berries, nuts, vanilla ice cream, citrus compote, yuzu curd

The best thing about me: I make you feel Royal with my oh-so-elaborate appearance

Have me with: Avocado on toast

With that lowdown, let me now tell you which is my favorite…

It is hands down the Good Ol’ Classic Pancakes from Brawn and Brain. The simplicity of its textures and flavors appeal to me the most. One bite of the fluffy pancake spread with butter and maple syrup has me in pancake heaven, for sure!
