You're an awesome mum

You're an awesome mum

You're an awesome mum

The life of a mum is not an easy one, so here's a tribute to all women who fulfil that role so beautifully.
To the mum who's breastfeeding:

To the mum who's breastfeeding:

Hats off to you, my friend. What a precious gift to give your baby! Breastfeeding is like the eighth wonder of the world. The joy and satisfaction you get out of it, and the nutrition your bub gets out of it… is indescribable. You're an awesome mum.
To the mum who's formula feeding:

To the mum who's formula feeding:

Science is great, isn’t it? There was a time when a baby with a mother who couldn't produce enough milk would suffer, but now? What you are doing is amazing. You're an awesome mum
To the cloth diapering mum:

To the cloth diapering mum:

It’s applaudable that you can deal with scraping poop into a toilet. But thanks to progress in modern tush-covering technology, you can now give an old-fashioned choice a new look. Oh, and not forgetting how friendly they are on the wallet! You're an awesome mum
To the disposable diapering mum:

To the disposable diapering mum:

Damn, those things hold a lot! And it's lovely to just toss them into the trash, isn’t it? Goodbye leakage and laundry! You're an awesome mum
To the mum who sits through vaccinations, watching her baby cry:

To the mum who sits through vaccinations, watching her baby cry:

It’s hard to see them suffer, but you do it because you know it’s for their own good. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who works:

To the mum who works:

You’re testament that women can have it all - a happy home, healthy children and a full-time job. It’s fantastic that you're sticking to your career, and being a positive role model for your children in so many ways. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who stays home:

To the mum who stays home:

This must be the toughest job in the world! I can imagine it isn't easy doing what you do, but to spend those valuable years with your babies must be wonderful. You're an awesome mum.
To the work-at-home mum:

To the work-at-home mum:

I bow down to you for making the decision to give up stepping into a real office! It must be tough to juggle household chores and working. And amidst all the craziness! You're an awesome mum
To the mum whose Facebook posts are all about her kid:

To the mum whose Facebook posts are all about her kid:

And why not? You’re a proud mum and want the world to know. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who prepared home-cooked meals for her kids the entire week:

To the mum who prepared home-cooked meals for her kids the entire week:

Great going! Good nutrition is important, and they're learning to enjoy healthy food at an early age. You're an awesome mum
To the baby-led weaning mum:

To the baby-led weaning mum:

You introduce your baby to solid foods and let her feed herself with her fingers, and later with cutlery. You don’t spoon-feed nor give her purées. Kudos to you! You allow her to explore, and encourage independence and confidence. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who had to feed her kids out all week because you're too tired to cook:

To the mum who had to feed her kids out all week because you're too tired to cook:

Hey, you're feeding them, and they may just be happier visiting the drive-thru than a quick bowl of porridge at home. After all, I can vouch to say sometimes sanity can be found in a cardboard box with a big yellow M on it. You're an awesome mum
To the mum with the toddler throwing a tantrum in the candy aisle at NTUC:

To the mum with the toddler throwing a tantrum in the candy aisle at NTUC:

You want to run away and hide somewhere safe (and less noisy), don’t you? We've all been through it. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who even when she gets mad, shows her children she cares:

To the mum who even when she gets mad, shows her children she cares:

This parenting thing is hard, I know. But you do it so well. Even when you want to hit your head against a wall because your baby broke your favourite watch - you still help them with their homework, polish their school shoes. Even with a mad-face on, you still do it. Because you love them to bits. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who’s her kids’ biggest cheerleader:

To the mum who’s her kids’ biggest cheerleader:

You’re always there to encourage them and lift them up. They’ve got a dream? You’re always supporting it and constantly remind them to chase it, even when they aren’t sure of themselves. You're an awesome mum
To the baby-wearing mum:

To the baby-wearing mum:

In Singapore’s balmy weather, it must be hard work to carry your baby around. And with all the heavy shopping to carry, the extra weight can put strain on your neck. You're an awesome mum
To the stroller-using mum:

To the stroller-using mum:

That's heavy-duty stuff you've got there! Lugging it around while going up the escalator (with kid in tow) must be a drag. You are a strong woman, and I admire you. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who practices confinement after delivery:

To the mum who practices confinement after delivery:

One month of "no bathing, no washing hair, no air-conditioning, eating healthy meals flavoured with only ginger and sesame oil." This must be such a change in your life, amongst other foreign things happening around you (read: a new baby). You're an awesome mum
To the single mum:

To the single mum:

Doing every single thing ALONE. Now this I don't have the words for. You sacrifice so much to ensure your kid gets the love and attention he's lacking from a dad. You laugh alone, you cry alone. But you have him, and he has you. Honey, you deserve an award. And a load of respect. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who practices corporal punishment:

To the mum who practices corporal punishment:

Kids can be such a pain in the butt, and sometimes spanking them is all you can do. You don’t want to, but you have no choice. They drive you up the wall, and there’s no other way they’ll listen to you. I get you. You're an awesome mum
To the mum who always puts her family first:

To the mum who always puts her family first:

Even if you’ve got a fabulous career and social life - family always comes first. You’re never late to pick the kids up from school because of a meeting, you attend ALL school functions, and you throw most wicked birthday parties every year- because your kids were — and still are — the priority in your life. You're an awesome mum And… to the mums who judge other mums for any of the above: Think again, sweeties, think again.
