Singapore Ocean Week 2025: A Celebration of Marine Conservation and Sustainability

Join Singapore Ocean Week 2025 for a week of marine conservation events, beach cleanups, exhibitions, sustainable seafood fairs, and more. Dive into ocean sustainability!

Singapore Ocean Week 2025 is set to take place from April 4 to April 6 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. This annual event brings together ocean enthusiasts, marine scientists, policymakers, and the public to celebrate and protect our marine ecosystems.

The 2025 edition is dedicated to cephalopods, such as octopuses, cuttlefish, squid, and nautiluses and highlights marine life behavior through engaging activities, exhibitions, and expert discussions.

What to Expect

Singapore Ocean Week 2025 will feature a diverse lineup of events catering to all ages, from hands-on conservation activities to insightful discussions on marine protection. Here’s a look at what’s in store:

1. Ocean Conservation Summit

A flagship event featuring international marine conservation experts, scientists, and policymakers discussing pressing ocean issues, such as climate change, overfishing, and plastic pollution. Keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities will provide valuable insights into the future of ocean sustainability.

2. ADEX Voice of the Ocean Photo + Video + Art Competition 2025

This competition will showcase powerful visual storytelling focused on marine life behavior and cephalopods. Photographers, videographers, and artists from around the world will compete in categories that highlight the beauty and importance of ocean conservation.

3. The ADEX Mermaid Festival

A highlight of the event, the ADEX Mermaid Festival will feature mermaid performances, workshops, and interactive sessions where visitors can learn about the growing mermaid community and its connection to ocean conservation.

4. Sustainable Seafood and Eco-Market

This fair will showcase sustainable seafood options, featuring local vendors, chefs, and marine conservation groups promoting responsible seafood consumption. Attendees can enjoy cooking demonstrations, sample sustainable dishes, and shop for ocean-friendly products.

5. Interactive Marine Exhibitions

The event will host interactive exhibits where visitors can explore marine biodiversity, ocean conservation technologies, and the impact of human activities on marine life. Virtual reality experiences will allow guests to “dive” into the ocean and witness coral reef ecosystems up close.

6. Youth and Family Workshops

Educational programs designed for students and families will include marine-themed art workshops, storytelling sessions, and DIY projects focused on reducing plastic waste. These workshops aim to instill a sense of environmental responsibility in younger generations.

7. Ocean Film Festival

A selection of award-winning documentaries and short films about marine conservation, climate change, and inspiring efforts to protect the oceans will be screened at venues across the city. Some screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with filmmakers and conservationists.

8. Diving and Snorkeling Expeditions

Guided diving and snorkeling trips to Singapore’s marine parks, such as Sisters’ Islands Marine Park, will offer participants an opportunity to explore underwater ecosystems while learning about the importance of marine biodiversity.

9. Citizen Science Projects

Attendees can participate in marine research initiatives, such as coral reef monitoring and data collection on microplastics, contributing valuable information to ongoing conservation efforts.

Join the wave for change

Singapore Ocean Week 2025 offers a unique platform to learn about marine conservation and engage with experts. Whether you’re a marine enthusiast or a sustainability advocate, this event has something for you. It’s also a great opportunity for a fun and educational experience!

Join the movement and be a part of this meaningful initiative to protect our oceans for future generations!
