It’s a food affair for the whole family! Sentosa’s first Penang buffet by the sea will whisk guests away to the “food capital of Malaysia”, indulging them in the secret family recipes of a renowned Penang Chef!
Coinciding with Mother’s Day, Tastes of Penang @ Sentosa is a great place for the whole family to indulge in a scrumptious feast together. The buffet is the first of several dining activities that the island will host this year, as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations.
Held from 10 to 20 May, Tastes of Penang @ Sentosa will transform the island’s interim car park into the “streets of Penang” – complete with an irresistible array of Penang favourites (most of which are cooked a la minute).
Specially invited from Penang, Chef Qua Hun Siam will helm the wok at Tastes of Penang @ Sentosa and bring family heirloom recipes, such as Char Mui (Fried Porridge), Char Hum (Fried Cockles) and Lor Bak (more commonly known as “Ngoh Hiang”), to the table.
Famed for his home-style cooking, Chef Qua has run a restaurant and food catering business with his wife for the past two decades, and had the privilege of cooking for prominent individuals, such as the Chief Minister of Penang and even Singaporean gourmet Moses Lim. At this event, Chef Qua will be supported by his team of four chefs and Sentosa’s culinary team.
