As the year draws to a close, several neighbourhoods in Singapore are preparing to welcome 2024 with a bang! The People’s Association (PA) has announced that fireworks will be set off from seven heartland locations. This continues a tradition that has marked the start of each new year for the past four years.
Lighting Up the Sky
The heartland fireworks displays are expected to be a major draw, attracting locals and visitors alike. The PA has confirmed that the following sites will host the fireworks:
- Our Tampines Hub (Town Square)
- Boon Lay (Block 215 Boon Lay Place hardcourt)
- Keat Hong (Keat Hong Square, hardcourt at Choa Chu Kang Loop)
- MacPherson (hardcourt outside MacPherson Community Club)
- Marine Parade (Block 46 Marine Crescent hardcourt)
- Marsiling (Woodlands Stadium)
- Nee Soon (Futsal Arena @ Yishun)
These community-based firework displays have become a much-anticipated feature of the New Year’s celebrations in Singapore, bringing joy and wonder to the young and the young at heart.

Heartland Fireworks: More than Just a Display
But the heartland fireworks are more than just a visual spectacle. The PA has also announced a total of 28 community celebrations across Singapore from Dec. 30 to Dec. 31 to usher in the New Year. These events, organised by the PA grassroots organisations, are expected to draw over 70,000 people.
From a Silent Disco to a sports carnival, a fashion show to multi-cultural performances, and even a party for pets and their owners — these events offer a variety of family-friendly activities to choose from.
Heartland Fireworks: Where Else to Watch
For those who might not be able to make it to the heartland locations, fear not! There will also be 14 other locations where people can catch the fireworks display for the New Year, including The Promontory @ Marina Bay.
So whether you’re in the heartlands or elsewhere in Singapore, you won’t miss out on the spectacular start to 2024!
