Big news for savvy shoppers out there, here is another site for you to bookmark. Target, the largest discount retailer in the United States behind Walmart, is now officially shipping their goods to Singapore.
So say goodbye to lugging heavy home accessories, cute christmas toys and other awesome goodies in an extra luggage back from the States. You can get your favourite and reasonably-priced items like kids clothes, makeup, and housewares, just by the click of a mouse.
Target has made it extremely easy for you, with all prices conveniently listed on the site in SGD so you do not have to worry about having to convert every USD priced item. However, do take note that duties and taxes are calculated at checkout with guaranteed landed costs. And, they offer low international shipping rates — hoorah!
But wait, there’s a catch (we knew this was too good to be true). Not all items can be shipped to Singapore. We tested out the e-commerce platform, and the checkout page reveals (to our dismay) that not every product can be shipped to Singapore.
The Apple Watch, for one, can’t be shipped. We clicked a bit more, and learnt that several clothing brands were also not available for shipping to Singapore.
So we won’t be as lucky as Americans who are able to buy everything from Target. But fret not, Singaporeans are well, still able to buy almost everything.
How will this go down with Singaporean shoppers? Guess we’ll have to wait (and shop) and see!
