Singapore socialite Kim Lim praised for building homes for the poor

"I want my kid to grow up and understand the value of paying it forward and care for the people in need. That is a value my dad has instilled in me, and I hope to do the same for my boy", says Singapore socialite Kim Lim.

Looks like Singapore socialite Kim Lim has found her calling in life.

Kim, daughter of Singapore billionaire Peter Lim, was recently involved in building houses for the poor in Mongolia. It was an experience that changed her life.

"Now that I am a mum, it made me realise that kids depend on us for everything and it is important for them to have a good childhood", Kim, whose son Kyden recently turned 1, told The New Paper (TNP).

Kim's father Peter Lim is a well-known philanthropist who supports various education and sports causes.

"I want my kid to grow up and understand the value of paying it forward and care for the people in need."

"That is a value my dad has instilled in me, and I hope to do the same for my boy", says Kim.

In October, Kim posted pictures of the houses she had helped build in Mongolia. One of them was dedicated to her son Kyden.

"Kyden, daddy and mummy have contributed these houses under your name to those who seriously need it. Really happy that all the houses have been completed just before the winter."

"We can’t change the world but we can make a difference by every bit we do - this difference means the world to those receiving it. Hope that you will understand the joy of paying it forward when you grow up one day too", she wrote on Instagram.

She also distributed food to the poor, and visited eldercare centres and orphanages.

Kim's noble act received much praise from Mongolian TV channels.

"I hope with this coverage, it will create more awareness of the homeless situation in Mongolia, and more people will step forward to play a part in making a difference in the lives of these less fortunate people."

Really thankful to everyone who travelled (300KM+) up and down with me to visit/give the foods to the less privilege. 🙏🏻 Mongolian people are really so kind ❤️ thank you

"I am still focusing on projects to help more children or people in a less privileged environment, but I am looking beyond Mongolia", she tells TNP.

True to word, Kim recently supported Touch Community Services in Singapore and took the kids to watch The Great Moscow Circus!

"It was such a rewarding Saturday afternoon taking the kids from Touch to the circus", she wrote on Instagram.

"Every kid deserves a beautiful and happy childhood. Nothing beats seeing the smiles and joy on their faces. Experience like this is simply priceless!"
