Parents always want the best for their children, and we can all agree parents will go great lengths to provide their children just that.

Singaporean parents are no exception.

On Saturday, 3o November 2019, more than 300 Singaporean parents spent over six hours queuing overnight at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Nafa) campus in Bencoolen – all to secure an ideal timing in the art institution’s enrichment classes for their children.

According to The New Paper, parents had come prepared with chairs, sleeping bags, yoga mats, and even snacks.

The parents, who already bagged a spot for the enrichment classes, especially camped overnight at Nafa to ensure their child gets the best class timing which is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Despite registration ending at 1 pm, the crowd still took two hours to disperse.

Nafa, a post-secondary arts institution in Singapore, provides arts and design education appropriate for students who have completed their secondary education.

But for young children, the school offers a variety of courses in their junior art department.

The fees for these classes range from $352.10 to $552.10 depending on the age and term the student is enrolling in.

Apart from that, Nafa also provides short-term programs during the June and December school holidays in which parents started enrolling their kids in March.
