A really sad and tragic news has been reported. A Singapore dad died suddenly, leaving behind his wife and 4 children. Apparently, he died from a burst vessel inside the toilet of his home.

The family resides at Block 245, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

Singapore dad dies

The deceased, Mr. Wang Qing Chi, 60, was unemployed. His wife, Ms Weng Meirong, works as a stall assistant at a hawker stall and earns about $500 every month.

Ironically, they had just become eligible for the many benefits for families announced recently, in Singapore Budget 2018.

News of the death was first reported in Lianhe Wanbao, and saw huge outpouring of support from Singaporeans. Many readers have offered to donate money and food to the family.

One reader has apparently offered to contribute $500 monthly, while some others offered to donate rice, dry grains, and canned food to the family.

Ms Weng said she was very grateful and touched by all the support. She hopes to do her best to look after her 4 children in the absence of their father.

She has been quoted as saying, “I am very touched with the concern from these kind people. No matter how difficult life will be, I will bring up my children.”
