Discover the Enchanting Delights of Singapore Botanic Gardens

4 min read

Singapore’s oldest garden, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, holds a special place in plant enthusiasts’ and nature lovers‘ hearts. It is a testament to Singapore’s commitment to being a City in a Garden, as it was the country’s first UNESCO Heritage Site. Initially established in 1859 by the Agri-Horticultural Society, it has evolved from a disused plantation to a sprawling recreational garden that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and horticultural research.

What’s New at Singapore Botanic Gardens

As the festive season of 2023 approaches, the Singapore Botanic Gardens has added exciting new attractions and activities for visitors to enjoy. One of the main highlights is the newly expanded National Orchid Garden, which now boasts the world’s largest orchid display, with over 60,000 orchid plants, including rare and exotic species. This delightful showcase of Singapore’s national flower is a sight and a photographer’s dream.

Moreover, the Swan Lake has undergone enhancements, making it an even more enchanting spot. Visitors can now witness a diverse array of aquatic plants and fishes while being charmed by a pair of graceful mute swans gliding across the serene waters.
