Shannen Doherty shares breast cancer update after shaving her head

The actress had an "impossibly tough day," but powered through with a little help from her friends

Shannen Doherty took to social media last Monday to thank her supportive loved ones for being there for her as she battles breast cancer.

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer March 2015.

Her cancer was made public after she filed a suit against her former business manager Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson. Doherty has claimed that the company failed to pay her health premiums, leading to the cancellation of her insurance, thus causing her to not visit a doctor as regularly as she usually did.

When her insurance was reinstated in 2015, her cancer was discovered, but was caught at a later stage. In the court documents, the cancer was described as being “invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node.”
