The secret to keeping a clean bathroom without actually cleaning

The secret to keeping a clean bathroom without actually cleaning

Learn the secret to keeping your bathroom sparkling clean without having to dedicate time to cleaning!

If you’re anything like me, you like to keep a nice tidy home. Everything is spick and span, nicely dusted, and the floors are sparkling clean. It’s a difficult task, but there’s nothing quite like a clean living space.

Obviously, some parts of the house are more difficult to clean than others. The most difficult place to clean? The dreaded bathroom. In fact, when I come home to an unclean bathroom, I can’t help but feel like this:

The secret to keeping a clean bathroom without actually cleaning

The bathroom requires constant care and constant attention. It’s a lot of work, but it’s well worth it. But…what if I told you there was another way? What if I told you that there was a way to keep a clean bathroom without actually having to dedicate time to cleaning?

Sounds crazy, right? Well, the Domestic CEO of Quick and Dirty Tips recently shared some pretty groundbreaking techniques that will forever change the way you live.

Check out some of the ways to keep your bathroom clean sans effort:

1. Keep things put away

The best way to keep your bathroom clean is to eliminate any clutter. Filling up precious sink space, or open areas with bottles, spray cans, and makeup can make for an eyesore. Plus, grime grows quicker and easier underneath the bottles as the water gets trapped underneath them. This means that to properly clean, you’d have to lift, and move each and every object and clean underneath!

That sounds like too much work to me. An easier strategy would be to minimise the clutter and maximise empty space surfaces in your bathroom. Try utilising drawer, cabinet, and closet space if you want a continuously clean bathroom.

2. Keep your cleaning arsenal close by

If cleaning your bathroom entails lugging your cleaning materials to and fro the bathroom, then you should work on your strategy. Try keeping at least some of your cleaning tools (i.e. toilet wand, multi-surface cleaner, rags, sponge) in the bathroom in an easily accessible place. Trust me when I say it will make cleaning seem less arduous, and it will definitely feel like less of a challenge or chore.

3. Divide your cleaning routine

If your surfaces are clutter free, and your materials are close by, we’re on to the next step: dividing up your routine. If you split your cleaning regimen into little bits, it won’t feel as though your dedicating large sums of time to cleaning your bathroom. Instead of taking a whole hour to clean the bathroom in one session, split up your tasks!

Next time you’re leaving the bathroom, try brushing up the toilet with the toilet wand before you go. The next bathroom visit, clean the mirrors. Next time, clean the sink…you get the idea. If you divide your tasks into little portions at a time, it’ll hardly seem like you’ve spent time cleaning the bathroom at all!

4. Invest in practical products that eliminate the need to clean

Products that help eliminate your need to clean are a godsend. Things like potpourri and fragrances and automatic/scrub-free toilet cleaners will keep your bathroom clean with minimum effort…guaranteed. You’ll still need to put in a bit of elbow grease every now and then but these will help you keep a nice tidy bathroom without having to exert more energy than needed.
