While fans were busy speculating about Rebecca Lim‘s romantic life, she surprised them all by announcing that she said ‘Yes!’ to her mystery man.
On Monday (15 November), the 35-year-old starlet shared a post on her Instagram with photos from the day of their engagement.
Rebecca Lim Gets Engaged To A “Very Private” Man

Actress Rebecca Lim shared that her boyfriend, also 35, proposed to her last Friday (12 November) and that it was an “intimate” affair.
She told 8days that her fiancé knew she “always wanted” to do this quietly. Despite inquisitiveness from her fans and well wishers, Rebecca has so far refrained from revealing her fiancé’s name.
This is because her mystery man is not in the media and is apparently a “very private” person. She also describes him as an “honest, mature, down-to-earth and very filial” man.
The couple met earlier this year and started dating shortly after. According to Rebecca Lim, they were introduced by a family friend and also share a few mutual friends.
“It was at a get-together at a friend’s place before all the restrictions kicked in. They thought we were quite suitable for each other, so they introduced us during the dinner and we hit it off,” says the bride-to-be, as per 8days.
Getting Married After Less Than A Year Of A Dating
Despite only having been in a relationship for less than a year, the actress doesn’t think she’s getting married too soon. Lim says she and her future husband were clear about their intentions from the beginning of their relationship.
“I think when you meet at a certain age and you’ve been through things, you know what you want and what you don’t want,” Rebecca Lim told 8days.
She added, “I was very transparent from the beginning and so was he. And we laid our cards down at the beginning. We got to know each at this age where we want to be honest as possible. And not to waste any more time.”

What Went Down Before The Proposal
Going into detail of the proposal, Rebecca says it was done at her friend’s gallery.
According to the actress, he blocked off a space to propose to her. There was even ’80s music playing in the playground as the groom-to-be “loves ’80s music.”
She also reveals that her family kept it a secret from her so she was really “caught by surprise” when he popped the question. She adds, “He knew my requirement was to ask my family for permission.”
Only Rebecca’s close friends and both their families knew the couple were dating. She even shared that “no one in the industry has met him.”
“I just wanted this relationship to be not so scrutinised and just evolve as naturally as it can,” says Lim, according to 8days.

She adds, “I’ve always wished for my relationships to be kept away from the public eye. Before this, everyone would always ask about my relationship status but I never said anything. I would always just say that I would only share when I get married. And this is it.”
