HP Print Apps: Getting ready to print with HP
Getting a printer used to be a complicated affair. In the early days of printers, we had a choice of dot martix printers, ink jet printers and laser printers.
In addition, we had a choice of photo printers, all in ones (AIO) or single function print only printers. Not only were there a mydrid of choices, the quality of print also differed significantly among brands and the models within the brands.
Today, as technology advances, printers have evolved to a stage where it is difficult to distinguish between the brands.
Function-wise, it would not be surprising to find multifunction printers that have print, scan and copy features built into an affordable machine. Furthermore, most new printers include WiFi capabilities that can link up to the home network for ease of printing.
HP Print Apps – the fun way to print!
To differentiate itself from the rest of the brands out there, Hewlett Packard (HP) has introduced HP Print Apps for Work, Education and Play. The HP Print Apps are available exclusively to HP range of web- connected printers.
In our case, the apps are found on the control panel of the HP Photosmart 5520, a web-connected printer that was provided for this review.

HP Education
A printer can be used for education?
You would probably think I had gone mad with this notion. On the contrary, HP actually teamed up with SAP (Singapore Asia Publishers) education to provide enriching worksheets based on the latest curriculum from SAP’s bestsellers — all for your child’s personal use.
Quality apps at your fingertips
I managed to find a mid-year assessment set for English and Mathematics. This would be perfect for my primary school-going child to attempt during this school holidays.
You can actually schedule for weekly or daily prints to be delivered to your printer. With this complimentary service, you can now save money and time sourcing for assessment books.
Other educational apps worth exploring include onSponge and The World of Wonder. For the younger ones, Crayola and LeapFrog apps are great for activities-based printouts.

There are HP Printables from trusted brands such as Disney, Angry Birds, Garfield and more. HP even partnered with Dreamworks to feature printables from their animated movies — the latest available download features printables from the movie How to Train Your Dragon 2!
Make your own monster mask from ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2 ‘.
Bring your favourite characters from How to Train Your Dragon 2 to life with a printable mask or 3D paper craft. These activities are available exclusively from HP Print Apps on your HP Printer.
