Is your baby part of the skin-irritation cycle?

Bathtime and bedtime can be the perfect opportunity for us to bond with our babies. But if our little one is suffering from skin irritation, this can become a stressful experience for both mum and baby.

We surveyed over 100 mums nationwide to find out what their concerns are when it comes to their baby’s skincare. The survey explored what the most common skin issues are that babies experience and what mums concerns were.

The survey also looks at the skin-irritation cycle and what the various causes are of babies' skin issues.

So, what is the skin-irritation cycle? Find out on the next page...

Babies' top skin irritation issues

Babies' top skin irritation issues

With a newborn baby having just entered the world, it's easy for us mums to get worried about our little one's wellbeing, especially during our baby's first few months.

Our survey showed that 29% of babies suffering from skin reddishness, inflammation and sores, 25% experiencing dry skin and 17% have rough skin, our babies skincare regime is something that we should pay special attention to!

Babies' skin development

Babies' skin development

It’s crucial for mums to note that a baby’s skin is much more sensitive and thinner than adults. With 45% of babies experiencing skin irritation the most between 1 and 3 months old, we should pay particular attention to our baby’s skincare regime during their first months.

However, we should not fear as the good news is, our baby's proneness to skin irritation wears off as they get older. This is clear to see with just 3% of baby's over 15 months old experiencing skin irritation!

Top skin irritation consequences

Baby’s skin development means that they are more prone to skin irritation. With the top 5 skin issue triggers mentioned before, come several consequences. With 24% of baby's requiring extra changing time and 20% of mums feeling that they are not doing a good job, we should seek to find ways to eliminate this problem.

Time for baby's bath!

Time for baby's bath!

With mums' concerns at heart, Pigeon's Sakura Baby Skincare products offers a range of solutions to help preserve baby's naturally healthy skin!

So, how should you use Pigeon’s Sakura range when it comes to bath time and day to day skincare?

To start with, use PIGEON Baby shampoo to gently cleanse away dirt and because it has Sakura extract, the shampoo keeps your baby’s hair extra soft!

Next, if you’re washing using a tub, try diluting PIGEON Baby Wash 2 in 1 to gently cleanse both your baby’s hair and body. If your little one is able to stand up, the body wash can be used directly without needing to dilute.

Babies love massages and PIGEON Baby Oil is perfect as it’s filled with all the goodness of Sakura and has high levels of moisturising properties. If you’re planning a day out with your little one, PIGEON recommends their Baby Lotion which is the perfect marriage of moisture and protection from the outdoor elements.

When your baby’s learning to crawl and walk, they will definitely work up a sweat with their new found abilities. Also, with one of the top skin issue triggers being diapers and the top skin conditions being diaper rash, using PIGEON Baby powder on skin folds and nappy areas can help to provide your baby with a constant protective barrier.
