Wynona Leach is the founder of Red Carousel and also the creative face behind the brand. Originally from Australia, Wynona now lives in Singapore with her husband and two little girls Ivy 6 and Poppy 2.

She is a busy mum who like many of us juggles her work with spending time with her lovely family. She says "I’m always on the go and am still trying to find the balance, as it is a challenge working from home". For this reason she works when her kids are in school and through the night.

Wynona says that being a work-from-home mum has its challenges and when she was a new mother she read all the books she could on parenting, but now that the girls are bigger she parents more by intuition.

Wynona who qualified in communications and advertising in Australia, says working in advertising (as an account manager) was fun but not creative enough for her. Later she worked for a catering company before having her baby.

It was organising her daughter Ivy’s 5th birthday party that drew Wynona into ‘party styling’. "I loved it so much that I wanted to turn it into something I can get paid for" she chuckles.

Wynona then started Red Carousel, and calls what she does ‘party styling’.

Complete dessert tables

Wynona says "I'm always busy and this is a time consuming process, because everything is done manually. I don't do the entire process like organising entertainers and balloon suppliers. I take care of the aesthetics and focus on the dessert table".

Wynona draws from her experience in the catering industry when she styles these amazing dessert tables complete with drinks, snacks, cupcakes and a beautiful cake.

Beautiful Cupcakes and cookies

A part of the dessert table is the cupcakes, and on occasion Wynona bakes them herself. She likes to use small businesses and home bakers as well. However it is Wynona’s hummingbird cupcakes and chocolate mousse that are the two most popular items.

Wynona says "The cupcakes are quite healthy as I replace some of the oil with applesauce. There are fresh ingredients like carrots, pineapple and bananas. I reduce the sugar too. All desserts are in individual portions so everyone gets their own serving".
