Parents tell son his favorite toy isn't lost, but travelling the globe; internet hilariously responds

Remember when your parents used to tell you that your pet dog had gone off to "live on a farm"? Or that your goldfish had "swam off to the ocean" because he'd be happier there? As resentful as you were when you uncovered the truth, sometimes the truth hurts and a little white lie makes the pain of losing someone close to you a little more tolerable.

When one little boy tragically lost his favorite stuffed toy, his family couldn't refrain from using the white lie approach to reveal to their son that he may never see his stuffed pachyderm pal again.

As easy as it would be to tell their son that his buddy had simply runaway, or something equally cliche, the clever parents took to Reddit and asked users to use their photoshop skills to save the day. With the help of hilarious Reddit users, they were able to tell their son that his stuffed elephant wasn't lost, but travelling the globe!

Check out some of our favourites from the collection of hysterical photos!
