We all know that having a child with special needs is very challenging. Parents with special needs children should be patient and understanding in giving all the love and support that their children need. Sometimes, things can be extra hard if these parents don't receive any kind of support or encouragement from the society. We however have to be grateful as there are a lot of individuals and organizations island-wide who are going out of their way to help children with special needs.
Just recently, over 20 children from the Association for Person with Special Needs attended a soccer clinic which was actually the first of its kind to be held here in Singapore. The Singapore Sports Council and RHB Bank joined forces in making this praiseworthy event possible. An amateur coach volunteered to help these children learn the basics of soccer. For most of the kids, it was their first time to actually play this sport.
It would really be nice to see other organizations organizing events that would directly benefit children with special needs. This way, these kids would know and feel that they are part of a community that supports and loves them.
