As the school bells prepare to ring this August, many educator mothers face the challenging balancing act of returning to the classroom while continuing their breastfeeding journey. Recognising this, Singapore grown brand Hegen has launched its Gift-A-Pump initiative, gifting 1,000 Hegen PCTO™ Double Electric Breast Pumps (SoftSqround™) to pregnant and breastfeeding educators under the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Running from 4 August to 30 September 2025, this CSR initiative bridges the gap between motherhood and professional commitment.
A Lifeline for Educator Mothers

Educators play a critical dual role: nurturing young minds in classrooms while caring for their own children at home. Returning to work often means juggling back-to-back teaching schedules, short breaks, and limited access to private spaces—conditions that make breastfeeding difficult.
According to Singapore’s latest breastfeeding data, exclusive breastfeeding rates drop significantly by the six-month mark, with the return to work being one of the most cited reasons for stopping earlier than planned. Gift-A-Pump addresses this gap by enabling educator mothers to continue breastfeeding without sacrificing their careers.
Why Now: Hegen’s 10th Anniversary and World Breastfeeding Month
The year 2025 marks Hegen’s 10th anniversary, giving this campaign special significance. The launch during World Breastfeeding Month underscores Hegen’s deep commitment to maternal support and empowerment.
Founded in 2015 by Yvon Bock, a mother of four, Hegen was born from the mission to create products that make breastfeeding less overwhelming. The Gift-A-Pump initiative is a natural extension of that mission, celebrating educators who nurture the next generation at school and at home.

Part of a Broader Commitment
Gift-A-Pump is one of many CSR initiatives by Hegen. In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, the brand supported pregnant healthcare workers with Express-Store-Feed starter kits. Beyond products, Hegen focuses on maternal health, child development, and educational support through ongoing initiatives and The Hegen Foundation.
