A Flight To Remember

A Flight To Remember is the theme that Asia’s largest bird park came up with after announcing its big move. If you have the best memories in Jurong Bird Park and want to immerse in some nostalgia, you may consider attending the event.

The park will celebrate its legacy and rich heritage starting on the 3rd of September, 2022. They will be hosting some programmes that emphasise the park’s transformation all these years.

It includes a self-guided Heritage Trail, allowing visitors to learn about the park’s transformation through a series of displays. The displays illustrate the critical milestones in the 51-year journey of Jurong Bird Park.

Aside from that, visitors will also be allowed to snap a selfie at the old Panorail station. They recently reopened it to the public, and it is now complete with a recreation of Panorail.

Have you heard about their old cuckoo clock tower? You will see it at the park entrance, serving as the park’s countdown timer to its final day of operation.

Aside from the cuckoo clock tower, they also create the living Memory Wall. It is located on the Penguin Coast, where people can watch their favourite memories appear on screen in real-time.

Moving to a Brand New Home

On the 30th of August, the park announced that it is set to close on the 3rd of January next year. It would be the exact date the park will be celebrating its 52 years after its opening in 1971.

At present, the park’s staff and avian residents are already preparing to move to a brand-new home. Their new home will be in Bird Paradise at Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

Before they close and move to a new place, Jurong Bird Park wanted to keep the remaining moments with the staff a bit more special. There will be a memorable experience which offers the chance to explore the area through the eyes of people running it daily.

Additionally, there is much to expect in the park near the set date. They will release new programming in the coming months, so stay updated!

Holiday Camps

Holiday camps allow everyone to get distracted and temporarily escape their daily routine. Camps at Jurong Bird Park can be a perfect opportunity for the whole family to enjoy and learn about the fantastic world of birds.

While there, you allow your children to experience a closer family bonding experience with camping. One of their past camping packages included a fun staycation centred on flamingos.

Activities for Kids

There are several things that kids can surely enjoy upon visiting the area. They could have a splashing good time, experience egg collection, and have different adventures that can tickle their curiosity. The areas specialised for young visitors include the Birdz of Play playground and the Bird Discovery Centre.

The first one matches well with active kiddos who want to play in the water or the dry playground. On the other hand, the discovery centre caters to curious visitors who hope to learn about different birds.

Feeding the Animals

Feeding the animals is the best way for kids to have closer interaction with the animals. They can get acquainted with some birds in the park during the feeding sessions. It includes African birds, Penguins, Lories and Lorikeets.

If interested, you need to book a feeding session on their website. They strictly do not allow walk-in visitors to feed the birds if they did not arrange an appointment.
