Melissa shares her child's first day of school with theAsianparent.

What made my son’s 1st day at school more special was the fact that I was also a teacher at that school. He was all revved up and excited, and he had met his 2 teachers before.

He took to his class well, but kept looking for me. I explained how I had to teach another class, and that I’d see him before naptime. I heard from his teachers that he played well, and had hardly cried, and that was a major relief!

Now, 3 years down the road, he is loving his school, even though I have moved on to another career. Thanks to the wonderful teachers he has! In fact, he still refers to me as Teacher Melissa for the fun of it 🙂
