Teach your child how to swim

Teaching a child to swim can be fun for both child and instructor. As each child is different, different approaches are useful. Learn how to teach children to swim in these videos.

How to thread water

When first learning to tread water, your kids will tired easily due to sporadic movements, teach them to move their arms and legs
slower to support them. Let them experiment and alternate with speed. Once comfortable, have them rotate their legs like an electric
egg beater underwater. Both legs bent at the hip with circular motions from the knee. Ask your kid to draw a big circle underwater
with one toe, then the other.Work both legs simultaneously, alternating movement. This method allows you to tread water without even using hands! Alternatively, have your kid to practice making figure-8’s with their hands.

How to Doggie Paddle

The doggie paddle comes naturally with most children. Simply put together kicking and arm strokes and your child can begin the
doggie paddle. Assist your child by holding their waist or keep them afloat by using inflatable wings.

How to Back Float

When keeping afloat, kids tend to lift their head and bend down at the waist, causing them to sink. Allow your kid to practice on
land having them focus on tiling his head back, pointing his chin up. Keep both arms and legs relaxed on the floor.

Go Underwater

Getting comfortable with the water is the first basic step when teaching your toddler how to swim. They can put their face underwater
to get a feel of it, and once their comfortable enough they can put thier entire head underwater. Try slowly counting to three
out loud then saying “hold your breath!” to encourage them. It is important to keep praising the child. Your kid can practice
putting their head underwater by holding onto the edge of the pool for a better sense of control and security.
