Don't remember the last time you had passionate, hot sex with your partner? Check out this guide on how to have 'hot' sex even after parenthood -- it's sure to ignite the fire back in your sexual life.
Before kids

Before kids

Before children, hot sex is all a couple can usually think about. It doesn’t take but a second to get that sex drive from zero to a hundred. Couples have endless time to make-love and have the luxury of staying in bed for days without having to take care of anyone but themselves.

When the kids come, couples say goodbye to privacy, freedom, and selfishness. This might seem like a death sentence to the sex life, but it’s not. With children, a hot sex life is possible, but it doesn’t come easy.

Parents can have a hot sex life, but they just have to know how to balance it with parenthood. We give you the ‘low-down’ on how to sex up your life!

Planning the deed

Planning the deed

Parents with hot sex lives have to plan it. Planning to have sex seems like it would take the fun and spontaneity out of the whole thing. However, it has the complete opposite effect. You don’t actually ‘pencil it in.’ Instead you say something like, "Meet me at 10 tonight in bed."

This will have both partners’ minds racing all day and watching the clock until 10. All day long, the thought of having sex will build up the anticipation. Sure, you can try to work on your sex life by creating spontaneous encounters, but at the end of a long tiring day chances are that a kiss goodnight will not lead to more.

Ready-set-go!

Ready-set-go!

Parents with hot sex lives are always ready. Woke up a few minutes before the kids? Go time! Home earlier than the kids? Let’s do this! Even a middle of the night quickie is not out of the question for parents who know that sometimes you have to strike while the match is hot.
Prowling for the opportunity

Prowling for the opportunity

Parents with hot sex lives look for opportunities to fit in their needs. They jump into the shower while the kids nap. They head to the bedroom while the kids are playing at the neighbors. They pull the car over while they still have a babysitter for a few more minutes. Children are very time consuming and it is important to look for windows of opportunity whenever you can in order to keep your sex life hot.
Taking off the mummy/daddy hats

Taking off the mummy/daddy hats

Parents with hot sex lives take off their mummy and daddy hats occasionally. They remember that they are hot, sexy, and intimate spouses that don’t always need to be ‘parents.’ They get babysitters or take the kids to grandmas. They go on dates and talk about other things besides the kids. They let themselves have time away. As a parent, if you are mummy and daddy too much of the time, and not husband and wife enough, the sex life will suffer. Make a point to remember what life was like before kids.
They talk

They talk

Parents with hot sex lives talk about their concerns, wants, and needs. They tell each other if something is or isn’t working. As with all relationship aspects, communication is the key. Having a hot sex life as a parent might not be as easy as when kids weren’t a part of the picture, but it’s not impossible. All the work required may actually make it worth more in the end anyway. Share your deep, dirty secrets that keep your sex drive going as a parent!
