Starting from April 15, 2024, all HDB households in Singapore will receive S$300 vouchers to purchase climate-friendly appliances.
This initiative is part of the government’s effort to encourage energy and water efficiency within homes.
Expanding the Climate Friendly Households Programme
The government initially launched the Climate Friendly Households Programme (CFHP) in 2020, but only one- to three-room HDB households could avail it. They extended the programme from its initial end date in December 2023 until March 20, 2024.
Starting April 15, 2024, all 1.1 million HDB households in Singapore will be included in the programme.
In addition, the number of eligible product types will increase from three to ten, including 4-tick washing machines.

Eligible Products Under the CFHP
According to Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor, “the 10 eligible products contribute to around 60 per cent of an average household’s electricity consumption and around 90 per cent of water consumption.”

Eligible products include 3- or 4-tick refrigerators, 3-tick shower fittings, 2-tick and above LED lights, 5-tick air-conditioners, 3-tick basin taps and mixers, 3-tick sink/bib taps and mixers, 3-tick water closets, 4-tick washing machines, direct current fans, and heat pump water heaters.
More Retailers Joining the Program
To make the programme more accessible, more retailers will be joining. The total number of participating retailers will increase to 14, with about 300 stores islandwide.
“With these enhancements, we hope to incentivise more households to choose resource-efficient options from the outset or when the appliances and fittings are due for replacement,” said Khor.
More Flexibility for HDB Households
If you have already used your S$225 vouchers under the current CFHP, you can also claim the new S$300 vouchers under the enhanced CFHP when it commences.
Households now have greater flexibility in selecting different denominations when choosing eligible appliances, unlike the previous CFHP where the voucher amount was fixed for each eligible product type.
The enhanced vouchers will be available from April 15, 2024, and will remain valid until December 31, 2027.

Time to Go Green
This is a golden opportunity for all HDB households to make a positive change in our environment.
With the S$300 climate-friendly vouchers, we can all contribute to a greener Singapore by purchasing energy and water-efficient appliances.
Mark your calendars for April 15, 2024, and let’s all take a step towards a more sustainable future!
