Are you worried about your health? Is your blood pressure constantly troubling you as it keeps on shooting up? While you may think that your kids are partly to blame for your health condition, the fact lies that researchers actually say that kids can help improve your overall health.
Most of us think that the worries that are part of being a parent such as bills, education and health concerns make parents less healthy. Daily Mail’s report on the study conducted by researchers from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah tells us that caring for kids may have its hassles but it also helps parents find a sense of purpose and meaning.
Thus, parenthood helps reduce stress and puts the worries of life in the right perspective. But the findings of this study doesn’t say that the more kids parents have the better their blood pressure. It just wanted to show how parenthood affects a person’s blood pressure.
A lot of people disagree with the findings of this study as they point out the seemingly carefree and stress-free lives that single people or childless couples lead. Researchers however say that the difference between the blood pressure of childless couples and parents were significant and it was unlikely a case of coincidence.
Do you agree with the findings of this study? Does having children really lower a parent’s blood pressure or does it do the exact opposite – shoot it up? Share with us your experience!
