5 gyms where Singaporean mums can kickstart a healthy lifestyle

Start living a healthier lifestyle at these gyms in Singapore that cater to pregnant women, mums and families.

Take mums like this one who lost an impressive 30 kilos in just 32 weeks to get inspired and start working towards your post-pregnancy fitness goals.

We’ve rounded up a series of some of the best gyms in Singapore for mums to get started towards a healthier lifestyle.

Body Temple

Opened in 2004, Body Temple specialises in women’s fitness in Singapore. With a mantra of “women empowering women”, their all-female team consists of specialists in all areas of women’s health such as injury rehabilitation, pre- and post-natal, strength and conditioning, and weight loss.

Each Body Temple program is customised to meet the individual needs of the client, guided by a holistic approach towards nutrition, fitness, and mindfulness. Similarly, pre- and post-natal clients have tailored workouts and nutritional guidance provided to them.

Their studio at Loewen Gardens fosters a supportive, non-intimidating environment so that clients can achieve their health goals.

Momentum Lab

This studio, established by former corporate warrior Lynn Ong with her partner Jim Lim, has a team of dedicated Pilates & Mobility Trainers. Lynn found that with her high-powered job, she could only exercise on the weekends. Their programs are catered to all different levels meaning that it’s a great place to start for gym newbies or new moms looking to get back into shape.

Today, Lynn has her full Pilates certification so she can help clients learn the best methods in order to exercise effectively and live pain-free.

Focus Pilates

Focus Pilates offers a range of Pilates classes including pre-natal and post-natal programs. Pilates is a popular style of exercise post-pregnancy as the movements work well to help new mums recover after giving birth. Besides helping to strengthen the lower back, it also builds lung capacity and its low-impact nature means that it won’t put pressure on your joints.

Focus Pilates offers both group and private classes from their conveniently located studios at Orchard Road and Raffles Place. Classes are run by a dedicated team of experienced instructors who are certified in Polestar Pilates.
