While February may be seen as a month filled with love and affection, especially with Valentine’s Day, we often forget that “love” extends to more than just love towards our partners, family and friends. There are many in this world that needs all the love and support, apart from this special month.
On 13 Feb 2019, something really special happened at Raffles City Singapore that showed us what it means to make the world a better place, while helping those in need.
Get Animated Invasion Asia Tour by Warner Bros.
For the first time ever, a charity initiative as part of the “Get Animated Invasion” Tour by Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), has finally landed in Raffles City Singapore.
Get Animated Invasion: Join Marvin The Martian and his clones as they take over Raffles City Singapore with an immersive experiential pop-up!
In fact, prior to this day, the Get Animated Invasion Asia Tour has covered Taipei, Beijing and Hong Kong, with Singapore as the last stop.
The program also features Warner Bros.’ iconic cartoon characters Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo.
The opening event on 13 Feb itself saw a get-together of over 200 renowned celebrities and personalities, media friends and guests who graced the opening launch.
Get Animated Invasion exhibition: Local contributors themselves such as Mark Lee & Family, Denise Camillia Tan, Nick Shen, Dato Joey Yap, Class 95 DJ Muttons, Yes 933 DJ Kun Hua, Little Miss Bento, Miss Tam Chiak, Chef Siti, Ziqi, Lester (gagatree), Mongabong and Daphne Wee, also came to support the exhibition.
Marvin The Martian figurines by regional & local celebs and personalities
Walk through a gallery with close to 80 uniquely customised Marvin The Martian figurines created by regional & local celebrities and personalities such as Aaron Kwok, Fann Wong, Pierre Png, Mark Lee, Li Nan Xing, Dato Joey Yap, Nick Shen, Little Miss Bento and many more!
Get Animated Invasion: Renowned musicians, designers, artists, influenceers and personalities across Asia were invited to be part of this program.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind as each of them adds their own creative touches, let their imagination run wild and eventually turning their blank Marvin Funko figure into a work of art.
It is nothing short of heartwarming where behind each carefully crafted piece lies a story.
(L to R: Dato Joey Yap, Mark Lee, Nick Shen) Will you bid for Mark Lee’s Little Princess Fighter figurine?
Just last year, Mark Lee’s younger daughter, Calynn Lee, was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis, a rare kidney disease. He shared that his 6-year-old had her “immune system attacked by bad bacteria” and she “went through treatments”.
Despite the pain, Calynn tried her best to not cry in front of her parents as she did not want to let them worry. A very strong little girl — and that’s what inspired the “Little Princess Fighter” figurine.

Supporting children aged 3 to 18 years old with life-threatening medical conditions
With these like-minded individuals coming together to support this meaningful cause, 100% of the proceeds for Marvin The Martian figurines auctioned off will benefit Make-A-Wish International charity foundation.
