Bukit Batok Nature Park is also a place of historical significance. During World War II, the Japanese chose the Lorong Sesuai site as a memorial for soldiers who died. Today, only two pillars and 120 concrete steps leading up to a transmission tower remain. A memorial plaque at the foot of the stairs pays tribute to the soldiers and victims of World War II.
