As part of Funan’s fourth installment of Creative Intersections: Traces of Dragons, an art-meets-retail mall-wide exhibition to showcase contemporary works by 16 local artists, brand collaborations and interactive activities, five local artists alongside the veteran craftsman, Mr. Phua, have designed six unique eggs to embody Funan’s Passion themes: Chic, Craft, Fit, Play, Taste and Tech.
Conceptualised and fabricated to embody the Funan Passion themes of Chic, Craft, Fit, Play, Taste and Tech, each egg encapsulates a spectrum from the quotidian and microscopic to the cosmic – all while reflecting the overarching theme of dragons.
These eggs, nurtured by imagination and skill, are artefacts embodying the powerful essence of creation and the cycle of rebirth. Imbued with a touch of magic, they serve as gateways to untapped elemental forces. The intriguing twist lies in the revelation of each egg’s core, a mystery unveiled when viewed from a different perspective, inviting onlookers to discover both the surfaces and the hidden dimensions within.
Together with Funan, this initiative highlights Mr. Phua’s commitment to his craft and his role in bringing innovative artistic concepts to life.
These mystical eggs are strategically hidden throughout Funan, inviting the public to embark on an artistic journey beyond dragon lore and immerse themselves in the captivating art installations within the exhibition.
From now until 15 February 2023, shoppers are encouraged to participate in this fun quest by sharing their “hunt” of the dragon eggs on Instagram. As part of a giveaway contest, 5 lucky winners will stand a chance to receive $300 worth of prizes including a $20 Ray-Ban voucher, a pair of Lenskart Spectacles from its Dragon Gaze collection, $10 Barehands voucher and 20,000 STAR$ (worth $20 eCapitaVoucher)!
