While Keller’s pregnancy has put her at the top of the new cycle in 2021, she was most well-known for her her megawatt smile, her husky voice, and her multi-ethnic look, which made her a household name in the early 2000s.
After she won Ford’s Supermodel of the World, Keller got her big break as a video jockey (VJ) for MTV. She was only 21 years back then.
She quickly became one of the most watched VJ’s of her time. But her rise to fame wasn’t all that rosy and the one thing that did her help through it all- was her disciplined lifestyle.
Speaking to CNA in an interview, Keller revealed that the pressure of presenting on TV at such a prime age required a lot of focus and clarity and yoga helped her in it. “I was never a very healthy or an athletic child, was always at the doctor’s office for one reason or the other.”
After starting yoga in her late teens, Keller shared that she became stronger and a lot flexible. It further helped to boost her immunity. “My problems with shyness and anxiety started to improve drastically,” shared the VJ. She worked in MTV for eight years and then left.

Reflecting on her career graph, Keller was recently quoted saying, “I was 21 years old when I signed that mega-contract with MTV and was practically a child! Now with over 20 years of travelling and filming, I can say that I’m very content with where I am now in life.”
While Keller’s career path has evolved over the years, one thing that has remained constant – her passion for social causes.
The latest campaign that she’s been a part of is – “Heroes Against Cardiac Arrest.”

The campaign’s aim is to spread awareness on what should you do when someone gets a cardiac arrest. Will you actually trust anyone to help you in this precarious situation?
Keller recently had an important conversation with Ian Edema, a cardiac arrest survivor and Wayne Kwan, a Community First Responder on the topic. The panellists shared more about cardiac arrest and how we can prepare better in the future.
In March last year, Denise added another feather to her cap by starting her own lifestyle brand – UV Space Shield. She explained, “It’s a face shield that can protect your sensitive skin from 95 per cent UV light while you are out on your daily walks or doing other physical activities.”
A Blissful Married Life
On the personal front, Denise is married to Robert Gaxiola, 51, who is the Director of Content and Creative at Something Else digital studio. Keller and Gaxiola met as friends and tied the knot at a beautiful wedding in Bali in 2016.
Together, they have also set up a content production house, KellerMedia, where Denise is a producer and director.
