Singapore on Friday (27 March) reported 49 new cases of the COVID-19 infection here, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 732.
Of the new cases, 22 are imported and 27 are local cases who have no recent travel history abroad, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.
Eighteen of the cases are linked to clusters or previous cases, while nine cases are currently unlinked. Contact tracing is ongoing.
Among the imported cases is a 1-year-old female India national who tested positive for the virus on Thursday (26 March). The patient is currently warded in an isolation room at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).
Five new cases linked to PCF Sparkletots preschool in Fengshan
Five of the new confirmed cases are linked to the cluster involving PCF Sparkletots preschool in Fengshan, bringing the total number of infections arising from the cluster is 25.
This includes as 2-year-old Singaporean girl who tested positive of the virus on Thursday (26 March). Two other kids, an 11-year-old Singaporean male and a 13-year-old Singaporean female are among the new cases from the cluster. All three patients are warded in isolation at KKH.
16 of the cases are staff at the preschool, and nine are family members of Case 601.
The preschool centre at Blk 126 Fengshan will close for two weeks for cleaning and disinfection.
Earlier, the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) confirmed that among the infected employees is the principal at the Fengshan centre. An ECDA spokesperson said the principal was well when she was at work on 17 March but developed symptoms in the afternoon. The principal was said to have had a meeting with her staff and later attended a course with staff from other preschools in the same evening.
All PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Sparkletots Preschool centres have been closed since Thursday, said ECDA, to review its precautionary measures and to clean and disinfect all its premises.

Two new cases linked to Dover Court International School, New Cluster identified at SingPost Centre
Two new of the new confirmed cases are linked to the cluster involving Dover Court International School.
To date, seven of the total confirmed cases are from the cluster. Six are staff at the school, while one is a contact of Case 618.

The Ministry of Health identified Sparkletots preschool in Fengshan and Dover Court International School as two new clusters of COVID-19 infection earlier this week.
Separately, three of the total confirmed cases are linked to a new cluster at SingPost Centre at 10 Eunos Road 8, said MOH.
11 more patients discharged
Meanwhile, 11 more patients have recovered and were discharged, bringing the total to 183.
432 confirmed cases are still hospital with most in stable condition or improving, while 17 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit, said MOH.
Two patients with COVID-19 have died due to complications last Saturday.
