It continues to be an emotional year for American model and mum, Chrissy Teigen. After having experienced pregnancy loss, she now says she still gets reminded of it, each time she looks at herself in the mirror.
The television personality, who isn’t shy to share her emotions online, unmasked her raw feelings about the pregnancy with baby Jack, in her latest Instagram post.

Writing, “It’s really weird when you lose a baby and your body gets paused in time,” Teigen went on to share, “When you lose a baby halfway through, your body just pauses. It has nothing to do. No one to feed. And you’re just…stuck. You are stuck with saggy boobs that were preparing to be milk bags, a belly that was ready to bake.”
She further added, “Not only are you extremely, diabolically sad at what could have been, but you have this daily reminder every time when you look in the mirror.”
Teigen even asked her followers to not write “nice things” under her post. She said she just wanted to be “emo for a minute.”
In conclusion, she wrote, “I love you. **** a scale!”
This is not the first time Chrissy Teigen has reflected on how it feels to lose her baby boy. Last month, while she was out having dinner with her husband, John Legend, with whom she has kids, Luna, aged 5 and Miles, 3, Teigen revealed that she had not fully processed the loss of baby Jack.
In fact, the realisation that she has unresolved feelings about not having her third baby came as she finished her cookbook titled Cravings.

Her post struck an instant chord with Arielle Spiegel, who is the founder of CoFertility. She has had five miscarriages in the past five years. Even though her miscarriages were earlier, but she did resonate with Chrissy’s post.
Speigel said no matter whether a person has a miscarriage or stillbirth, there are physical changes and symptoms to cope with.
She further talked about the recovery process, which is often different for everyone.” It obviously varies from person to person but it also depends on the method in which you miscarry,” wrote the founder.
For instance, those who miscarry without medical intervention might end up bleeding and cramping for up to four weeks. The more advanced the pregnancy, the severe the symptoms after the loss of the foetus, in some cases.

Spiegel shared that those women who are unhappy with their bodies after the loss of their baby should speak to the doctors.
Necessary interventions like guidance in drying up of their breast milk or pelvic floor physical therapy can be recommended.
Spiegel suggested that there are also some workouts that one can try at home if they don’t want to be around others.
A pregnancy loss is an emotional roller coaster ride. It’s filled with intense grief, hope, fear, anxiety, disappointment and yes, uncertainty. Not to mention, the physical effects of the hormonal changes can be terribly taxing. For many, these tumultuous combinations can result in a deep sense of isolation and alienation.
As Teigen pointed out, sometimes there is no silver lining to something as devastating as pregnancy loss. But in order to embark on the recovery process, it’s important to find coping and acceptance strategies that can work best for you.
