Meghan Markle Calls Her Rainbow Baby "A Blessing" Following Her Miscarriage

Meghan Markle Calls Her Rainbow Baby "A Blessing" Following Her Miscarriage

Meghan Markle calls her rainbow baby a "blessing" in the re-released biography 'Finding Freedom.'

Earlier in June this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their precious baby girl into the world; much to the happiness of their loyal fans.

The world’s most famous couple also chose a significantly unconventional name for their daughter –Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. It was an ode to two very important women in their lives, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.

And thus, started the journey of the queen’s 11th great-grandchild.

However, this pregnancy was nothing short of a challenge for the former television actress who had experienced a miscarriage in 2020.

Now, the biography titled ‘Finding Freedom,’ sheds more light about the Duchess of Sussex’s emotions following the pregnancy loss and the birth of her rainbow baby.

Birth Of Lilibet Nothing Less Than A “Blessing From God”

Authors Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie who have written the couple’s biography originally published it last year.

However, it was re-released last month on Princess Diana’s death anniversary and has new chapters that shed more light on recent developments between the couple and the royal family.

The re-release of this biography has once again put Meghan’s miscarriage in the spotlight as the book goes deep into her experience.

The authors write that the miscarriage caused Meghan an “unbearable [amount of] grief.” This led to the actress seeing her second-born as nothing less than a “blessing from God.”

This isn’t the first time that her pregnancy loss has made headlines.

The Suits star opened about her experience with The New York Times in November last year. The actress explained that she wanted to share her experience so that other people going through the same loss know that they aren’t alone.

Meghan also said that she wanted to break the stigma around miscarriage.

Challenging times for the couple after the miscarriage

The authors spoke to a close friend of the actress, who also explained that Meghan was reluctant to share the news of her second pregnancy with Lili due to the miscarriage.

The friends further explained that both Meghan and Harry “started to feel more relaxed” towards the end of 2020, as the mum’s first trimester came to end.

However, the couple announced their second pregnancy to the world only in the second trimester.

In fact, Harry and Meghan broke the news on Valentine’s Day (February 14) this year. The image shared by the couple saw Meghan with the baby bump in a dreamy black and white image. Their son Archie wasn’t a part of the picture. The couple’s friend and photographer Misan Harriman clicked the image.

At the time, the royal couple’s spokesperson announced, “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

Meghan and Harry married in a truly royal affair in 2018 after a year-long engagement. The couple briefly lived at Nottingham Cottage, on the Kensington Palace grounds, and their first-born Archie arrived in May of 2019.

In more recent times, the couple has been in the news for their rift with the Royal Family.

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the royal family and moved to the Duchess’s native Southern California to call Los Angeles their new home.
