Mother’s Day Round-up of 1855 F&B Concepts
They say the love from a mother is the purest form of love anyone would ever know, and what better way to thank the First Ladies of our lives than to treat them to some of the best meals to be discovered this year. 1855 F&B brings you four different culinary treats from WAKANUI, The Spot, Perch and TONITO Latin American Kitchen, that are sure to spoil the mummy figures of our life to bits!
Steakhouse, WAKANUI Grill Dining, is showcasing an impressive platter of their signature New Zealand Ocean Beef Ribeye, WAKANUI Spring Lamb Chops, and juicy pork tomahawk cut. The Mother’s Day Menu for 4 (S$488++), available from 6th to 8th May, is served alongside fresh watercress, roasted banana shallot, and house condiments of WAKANUI sauce, Christmas Island sea salt, wasabi, and truffle salt.
Following the Spring menu which is in full swing at the restaurant, Japanese White Asparagus with a bearnaise sauce and zesty lemon vinaigrette, and Pan Seared Scallop with Provancal Sauce will also be served.
The meal ends with a White Chocolate Genoise with Blackberry Long Pepper Sorbet, that not only rounds off the richness of the mains, it leaves a refreshing taste of sweet berries on the palate.
For a touch of extravagance, The Spot’s Mother’s Day Brunch (S$128++), exclusively happening on the 8th of May, starts with a plethora of appetizers to share from freshly shucked Pacific Oysters with a spicy ginger tomato consommé, Scrambled Egg & Duck Liver on albufera sauce and plum glace, Chilled Uni Somen with pickled Chinese seaweed, Sauteed Blue Mussel, and Little Gem Salad with apple mustard emulsion.
Executive Chef Lee Boon Seng’s French culinary background is further accented with choice of mains like Seared Canadian Pork Loin with red cabbage puree and brussels sprouts, Deep Fried Skate Wing with roe horseradish cream, potatoes and tarragon, and Grilled Wagyu Beef Petite Tender with burnt parsnip mousse and a mushroom fricassee.
Desserts come in the form of a sharing platter of Taro Mont Blanc with poached kumquat, Dark Chocolate Ganache with gula melaka, Yuzu Parfait, and a Pistachio & Raspberry Layered Cake – a treat for the eyes!
Easties will enjoy a fun-filled day out on the 7th and 8th of May with the family at Jewel Changi Airport, especially when it includes a hearty Mother’s Day Menu at Perch (S$128 for 2pax, S$228 for 4pax). Featuring European-inspired delicacies, the meal starts with bite-sized Fontina Cheese Bread, a warm, soothing bowl of Celeriac Soup and a Roasted Butternut Squash Salad.
Mains come as a trio-meat platter of Grilled Spice Rub Local Farm Seabass, Roasted Lemongrass Lamb Rack with confit cherry tomatoes on vine, and Grilled Wagyu Beef Petite Tender with balsamic banana shallot and truffle jus. Accompanying the mains are sides of fried broccoli, and silky mash potato with horseradish and chives.
Dessert is a dainty looking “Heart” Choux made with rose cream and berries gel, served with a refreshing forest berries sorbet.
At TONITO Latin American Kitchen, the Chupe Mariscos Platter (S$68++) is available from the 6th to 8th of May. The special seafood platter is piled high with mussels, prawns and clams, and is topped with an Arequipa style stew, charred corn, and fregola pasta. The seafood feast is served with crusty baguette and Coxinhas, Brazilian pork fritters.
A satisfying meal calls for a refreshing tipple of Sparkling Red Sangria that is sure to liven Mommy’s mood for the weekend!
