Celebrate SG60 with a Nostalgic Plushie Tribute to Singapore’s Kopitiam Culture at Marina Square

Celebrate SG60 with a Nostalgic Plushie Tribute to Singapore’s Kopitiam Culture at Marina Square

If you’re a fan of Singapore’s iconic kopitiam culture, here’s something to get excited about this SG60! From 17 July to 18 August 2025, Marina Square will host Play Nation’s first-ever Kopi-Shop Pop-Up, a fun and nostalgic experience that pays tribute to Singapore’s beloved coffee-shop heritage.

Step into a Retro Kopitiam Experience

Recreating the charm of old-school coffee shops, the pop-up features mosaic-tiled flooring, colourful stools, and classic square tables. Visitors can even “order” their favourite breakfast items at a serving counter, where staff theatrically “pour” kopi and “make” toast—perfect for snapping Instagram-worthy photos.

Chan Yien Mei, General Manager of Marina Square, shared:

“The Kopi-Shop Pop-Up not only celebrates the nostalgia of our shared food culture, but also introduces a creative, contemporary format that will resonate with both the young and the young at heart.”

Play Nation’s Founder and Managing Director, Kai Jun Wong, added:

“We are reinventing the iconic kopitiam through a playful lens, creating a welcoming space for Singaporeans to join us in celebrating this unique element of our food culture and local heritage.”

Kopi & Toast Plush Collection – Breakfast Icons Turned Cuddly

SG60 Breakfast Plush by Play Nation

The star of the show is Play Nation’s Kopi & Toast plush collection, which turns local breakfast favourites into irresistibly cute collectibles:

  • Kopi Kettle ($16.90): A vintage long-spout kettle for the smoothest kopi “brew”.

  • Kopi Cup ($19.90): A happy-go-lucky coffee cup to brighten your mornings.

  • Kaya Butter Toast ($15.90): Soft toast slices packed with kaya, butter and love.

  • Hard-Boiled Egg ($14.90): A cute egg plush perfect for hugs.

  • Soft-Boiled Eggs ($15.90): A sunny-side-up pair on a saucer—Singapore-style breakfast!

  • Soy Sauce & Pepper Bottles ($14.90 each): A “saucy” duo to spice up your plush collection.

Shoppers can also grab themed sets like the Classic Set ($45), Kopi Addict Set ($55), or Eggs Lover Set ($55). For die-hard fans, the 8pc Shiok Max Set ($120) includes every plush and a free mystery gift.

If you want something to carry around, check out the Teh Bing Tote Bag ($24.90) or collect mini plush keyrings in blind boxes ($14.90 each).

Special Perks for Marina Square Rewards Members

Members enjoy 10% off all merchandise. Spend a minimum of $80 (up to 3 same-day combined receipts) to redeem:

  • Singapore Heritage Series Kopitiam Building Block Set ($19.90)

  • Dragon Playground Building Block Set ($29.90), a nostalgic nod to one of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks

Limited to 2,000 redemptions, one per member per day, while stocks last.

A Fun Outing for Families and Collectors

Whether you’re looking to relive nostalgic kopitiam memories or simply want to collect adorable plushies, this is an SG60 celebration you shouldn’t miss. Perfect for families, friends and kopitiam lovers of all ages!
