It’s hard to imagine having anything to cry about if you’re part of a royal family, but according to Prince William he’s had to learn how to soothe crying fits more than once.
While at the launch of his new mental health charity, Heads Together, the Duke of Cambridge shared that, although his youngest child Charlotte wasn’t really a crier, he discovered a trick to soothe Prince George when he cries.

The secret? Turning on the faucet whenever the young prince turned on the waterworks.
The sound of water would soothe the little prince–who’s now two years old,–during his first few months.
It’s refreshing to know that the simple trick which many parents swear by works for the royal babies as well. But, it wasn’t the only trick Prince William had up his sleeve.
Back in 2014, the royal dad revealed that singing songs by the Brit rock band Coldplay did the trick as well!
This isn’t the first time the Duke of Cambridge opened up about fatherhood. In 2015, he talks about how being a dad has changed him in an interview for the documentary When Ant and Dec Met The Prince: 40 Years of the Prince’s Trust.
“I’m a lot more emotional than I used to be, weirdly,” he says in the film. “I never used to get too wound up or worried about things. But now the smallest little things, you well up a little more, you get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world or whatever a lot more, I think, as a father.”
Though being a father has caused him to worry more; it has also taught him to be more appreciative of every single moment.
“It’s just because you realize how precious life is, and it puts it all in perspective,” he reveals. “The idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that.”
