[email protected], a programme started by The National Trades Union Congress has already been on for a year now. This initiative aims to promote healthy relationships between parents and kids by opening up workplaces for children.

Through this programme, parents are encouraged to bring their kids to work on certain days. This initiative has proven to be effective as attested by group vice-president for United Test & Assembly Centre Amarjit Singh. He reveals to Channel News Asia that his son better understands what he does now. When his son was at his office, he toured him around the premises and explained to his little one some of the things that he does.

Since it was launched, 40 companies have already participated and 1,800 children have visited their parents' offices. However, SME's say that they cannot afford to implement this programme in their offices. They say that the cost is just too high.

Have you had this programme in your office? What do you think of it? Is it beneficial for parents and kids? Are the "returns" much more than the cost of organizing the event?
