Mummies, how do you bond with your unborn baby? How do you get to know someone who hasn’t even been born into this world yet? Sure, having the little angel inside of you already feels like a bond, but how about going through the process of bonding while your baby is inside?
Why Is It Important to Bond With Your Unborn Baby
It’s never too early to start bonding with your baby. Even before they’re born, you can begin building a relationship and preparing yourself for parenthood.
Bonding forms an emotional tie between two people—in this case, you and your baby. It’s a special connection that will last a lifetime. Bonding helps prepare you for parenting by allowing you to get to know your child before they’re born so that when they arrive, you’ll feel more prepared for the challenges ahead.
You may wonder, “What does bonding have to do with my baby?” Well, bonding is all about communication—communicating with your child through the sounds and movements you make while carrying them in utero (while still in their mother’s womb).
So when we say “bonding,” we mean communication—the ability to understand each other’s needs and wants and feel comfortable around each other.
11 Ways to Bond With Your Unborn Baby While Pregnant
Bonding with your unborn baby is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your child. The bonding process begins before birth—you may have already begun bonding with your baby before you knew you were pregnant! The more prepared you are to bond with your child after birth, the easier it will be for them to feel safe and secure in an unfamiliar world.
#1 Talk to your baby
Don’t just limit yourself to talking. You can also unleash your inner Whitney Houston and sing your heart out! Tell your baby about your day and how excited you are to meet him. We’re pretty sure the feeling’s mutual.
#2 Vlog
What’s a vlog, you might ask? It’s like the concept of blogging, but with videos instead. Document your pregnancy by videoing yourself throughout this journey and noting down what kinds of food you’re craving, what you’re going to do later, and other stuff you’d like to share with him.
#3 Massage your belly
Massaging your belly is safe after the first three months, which would also help you unwind and relax. Your baby would be able to feel you touching him, and he would be relaxed by this too!
#4 Let daddy bond too
Let your hubby sing, talk and massage your bump! If you feel your baby kicking, place your hubby’s hand on your bump so he can feel it too. We’re pretty sure he will feel things.
#5 Respond to the kicks
When you feel your baby kick, touch the spot he had last kicked. You may find that he will most probably kick again to feel your touch.
#6 Keep a picture of the sonogram nearby
Spend time looking at the pictures each day, and imagine what it’d be like once he’s out and in your arms. You will feel all mushy and excited inside, and your baby will feel it too!
#7 Do yoga
Yoga helps you to focus your mind and to escape from the hustle and bustle of life. During this time, you will have the chance to clear your mind and focus on yourself and your baby, which will also help you ease any anxieties you have during your pregnancy.
#8 Take lots of photos!
Get creative with your bump! You can draw faces on your bump or take creative photos like the ones below to remember your pregnancy.
#9 Write letters

What better way to talk to your unborn baby than to write him letters? You could write him various letters throughout the different age groups and let him read them once he’s old enough!
#10 Create a time capsule
Include things such as his sonogram pictures, some of the things you craved while pregnant, and maybe even some of the photos and vlogs you took during your pregnancy!
#11 Sing songs
Music and singing songs is one of the best ways for parents to connect with their babies before birth because it helps them learn about rhythm and tune early on in life; this makes it easier for them later down the road when learning how to play musical instruments like drums or piano keys!
Do Babies in Womb Feel Mother’s Emotions
When you are pregnant, you may experience a wide range of emotions. It is common to feel excited, anxious and even fearful at times. But what if your baby could feel those same emotions?
Scientific research has shown that babies in the womb can feel their mother’s emotions. It can significantly impact the development of their personalities later in life. For example, studies show that infants born prematurely are more likely to be irritable or anxious than full-term infants.
One study found that when mothers were exposed to negative stimuli like loud noises or unpleasant smells when pregnant, the unborn children tended to cry more than normal. However, when mothers were exposed to positive stimuli like happy music or delicious food smells, their babies seemed contented and relaxed.
Another study showed that if mothers were stressed during pregnancy, their babies would tend to cry more than normal after birth. If moms had good mental health before pregnancy, their babies tended to be calm at birth.
Do Babies Feel Happy in the Womb
The answer is yes. Babies can feel happy or sad even before they’re born. It happens because the baby’s brain is developed enough to process emotions. Studies prove that babies can feel pain before birth.
When this happens, you need to look at your lifestyle and find ways to ensure that your baby is as healthy as possible to experience happiness when they come out of the womb.
What Do Babies Do in the Womb All Day
Babies in the womb are like babies everywhere: they sleep, eat, and play. But there’s a lot more to it than that.
The fetus spends most of its time sleeping and digesting food in the first few months of development. After that, it starts moving around quite a bit! The baby’s arms and legs begin to form around week 8, and by week 10 they can be seen on ultrasounds. The baby also starts swallowing fluid through its mouth called “oral fluid.” Foetus learn about its environment without actually being able to see it yet.
By week 13, fetuses can kick! And by week 15, they’re making facial expressions that look like smiles or frowns.
By week 18 or 19 (when most women find out they’re pregnant), fetuses can hear sounds outside their mothers’ bodies—and even respond to them with facial expressions! After that point, it’s just waiting until the birthday arrives.
Not Feeling Connected to Baby While Pregnant
If you’re pregnant and not feeling connected to your baby, it’s normal.
It’s common for women to feel detached from their babies during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. It is due to a combination of factors: hormones, stress, and exhaustion can all play a role in keeping you from feeling connected to your baby.
But there are ways to reconnect with your growing baby and make the bond stronger. Here are five tips for connecting with your baby while pregnant:
- Talk about your pregnancy with family and friends. Let them know you’re excited and nervous, so they can be supportive and understand when you’re emotional or tired.
- Get organised! Make sure you have everything you need before getting pregnant. Things like maternity clothes, diapers, etc. So that when the time comes, you’ll be able to focus on being relaxed instead of stressed about having everything ready for your little one’s arrival.
- Take care of yourself! Eat healthy foods and drink lots of water. So both mother and baby are healthy throughout pregnancy (and beyond). Exercise regularly so that both mother and baby have plenty of energy stores built up by the birthday!

Can an Unborn Baby Feel Unwanted
Bond with your unborn baby because they can feel unwanted.
A foetus is a developing organism inside the body of its mother. It can be found in mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. A fetus grows inside the uterus and receives nutrients from the placenta.
An unborn baby can feel whether or not its mother wants it because of hormones released into her bloodstream during pregnancy. These hormones affect how she feels about being pregnant and having a baby in general—whether or not she wants them both during this process!
When Can My Baby Feel Me Touch My Belly
Your baby can feel your touch as early as eight weeks after conception. At this point, the baby is just a tiny ball of cells that weighs less than a grain of rice (about 1/30th of an ounce).
By the time you’re 24 weeks pregnant, your baby will be about three inches long and weigh about one pound. At this point, your baby’s senses are well developed enough to respond to touch.
When to Start Bonding With Unborn Baby
Bond with your unborn baby, it is important for many reasons. It establishes a connection between the two of you, which will help your child feel more comfortable during labour and delivery. Your baby will also recognise your voice, smell, and touch, making it easier to soothe them after birth.
But when exactly should you start bonding? The answer depends on who you ask. Some doctors recommend that parents begin bonding as soon as they find out they’re pregnant; others suggest waiting until the third trimester.
No matter your baby’s age when they enter the world, it’s never too late to start building a relationship with them—and research suggests that beginning early is best for both of you!

Daily Bonding Activity With Baby First Trimester
Daily activities to bond with your unborn baby in the first trimester can be a great way to get to know your little one and enjoy quality time together.
Whether you’re feeling nauseous or having trouble getting comfortable, or if you just want to spend some time with your partner or friends, here are some ideas for bonding with your baby in the first trimester:
- Get cosy on the couch, turn on your favourite TV show and snuggle up with a favourite blanket.
- Play music while you cook dinner or do other chores around the house. This will help your baby hear and start recognising sounds that will be familiar when they’re born.
- Go for a walk!
Connection Between Mother and Baby in Womb
A mother’s connection to her baby in the womb is very important. A mother can feel the baby moving and kicking, but she can also sense what the baby is feeling. This connection helps you bond with your unborn baby even before birth.
When a woman is pregnant, she feels many different emotions. She may experience excitement or happiness at the thought of having a baby, but she may also feel nervous or scared about being a parent. These feelings are normal and part of what makes being pregnant so special.
Many women say that they have felt their babies move inside them before they were born. Some mothers have described feeling their babies kick as early as six weeks after conception! Other mothers have felt their babies kick for several months before birth.
The connection between mother and baby in the womb starts when the woman discovers she’s pregnant. Or when she first feels her baby move inside her body and continues through birth and beyond into childhood and adulthood.
