Blue pouch carried by Ho Ching at the White House was designed by Pathlight School student

2 min read

When attending the highly talked about White House Dinner with US President Barrack Obama on 2 Aug, Ho Ching, the wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was seen carrying a blue pouch with her.

It turns out the the blue pouch was actually a Japanese Boro‬ Blue “Dino Silhouettes” multicase designed by a student from Pathlight School.

The student, by the name of Seetoh Sheng Jie, 19 has designed the pouch from memory and without any referencing material. It was also said that he really loves prehistoric animals.

The Pathlight Art Faculty had also posted on Facebook about the pouch’s appearance at the White House on Tuesday.

Sheng Jie is part of Pathlight’s Artist Development Programme, a programme that launched with the aim to uncover artistic talents in students and develop their potential. The students will be given a chance to work with professional artists and also showcase their works to the public.

Whenever the student’s products are sold, they will be given a royalty payment from Pathlight School.

The school hopes that this programme will enable both students and their families to recognise the value of their talent and will give them a chance to have a dignified source of income.

The Denim Pouch-Dino Blue Black comes in 3 different designs and are available online for $14.90 each.

Mummies, what do you think of the pouch? Share your thoughts with us!
