April in Singapore has been an exhilarating blend of action, advocacy, artistry, and whimsy. From groundbreaking healthcare and family safety conferences to sprinkles of nostalgia and storytelling magic, this month proved that Singaporeans are moving with purpose — and having a lot of fun along the way.
April 2025 Highlights in Singapore
1. National Injury Prevention Conference 2025: A Unified Push for Safety
On 1 April, Singapore marked a major milestone in public health with the launch of the National Injury Prevention Conference (NIPC) 2025, jointly organised by the National University Centre for Trauma (NUH) and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).

The conference addressed three key areas — paediatric injury, workplace trauma, and road traffic safety — with initiatives ranging from car seat programmes for newborns to rear seatbelt campaigns and rapid trauma response training in migrant worker dormitories. With trauma injuries rising 10% from 2021 to 2023, NIPC 2025 aims to be a cornerstone for national safety efforts moving forward.
